The Cepea reveals in its recent surveys that soybean oil prices are on an upward trajectory in the domestic market. Experts from this renowned research center point out that this boost is driven by increasing demand, especially from the food industry.
According to researchers, representatives from these factories are seeking to secure considerable volumes in the medium term, given expectations of increased biodiesel production in Brazil. It is noteworthy that soybean oil is the main raw material in biodiesel production in the country, accounting for approximately 70% of the total.
Currently, the blend of biodiesel into diesel oil stands at 14% (B14) in Brazil. However, there is a project under discussion to raise this percentage to 25%, signaling a potential significant expansion in demand for soybean oil in the coming years.
This rise in prices reflects not only the dynamics of the domestic market but also the pursuit of more sustainable and environmentally friendly energy solutions, aligned with the country's sustainable development goals.
Cepea will continue to closely monitor these trends and provide updates as necessary for stakeholders in the sector.
