Ukraine is projected to harvest a record 5.7 million tons of soybeans in 2024, driven by a larger-than-expected planting area, according to agricultural consultancy ASAP Agro on Monday.
In 2023, Ukraine harvested around 5 million tons of soybeans. Despite challenging drought conditions, ASAP Agro increased its forecast for the 2024 soybean crop, attributing the growth to the expanded cultivation area, which the State Statistics Service estimated at a record 2.63 million hectares.
The consultancy also noted that soybean exports could exceed 3.1 million tons during the 2024/25 season.
